Welcome to Wallingford Homestead and Lodge.
Surrounded by sweeping lawns, majestic English Oaks, expansive gardens that blend into sheep and cattle pasture and a ten acre trufferie, Wallingford is the ultimate country lifestyle experience.
Step back in time to a gracious period of New Zealand rural life. Established in 1853 as a sheep breeding station, Wallingford is believed to be the largest single storey dwelling in the Southern Hemisphere. Yet the scale is balanced by its charm, privacy, style and unique hospitality.
The Homestead is warm and inviting in all seasons. In winter, guests return from their day's activities to a homestead alive with roaring log fires, fine wines from our cellar and stunning dining prepared by in-house cordon bleu chef Charlotte Robinson (holder of the NZ Beef & Lamb Hallmark of Excellence Award 2008 & 2009). During brilliant Hawke's Bay summers, the scene shifts to the pool and pavilion area where barbeques and cold drinks are the order of the day.
Wallingford is the ideal location for weddings, corporate functions, family reunions, golfing groups or weekend escapes. Whether there are two people or seventy, Wallingford hosts, Jen and Johnny Ormond will take care of your every need and ensure your stay is a wonderful experience.
Enjoy a range of exceptional outdoor activities or simply chill-out and relax. The choice is yours.
